Alex Abrams
St. Helen Catholic Church      1350 W. 6th St.

Cellist Alex Abrams performs at our concert series for the very first time. He has performed in a wide variety of ensembles while studying at Whitman College including various string quartets, several flute trios. An advocate of new music and aspiring composers, Mr. Abrams has also performed extensively for composition majors. H is one of 13 cellists in the Walla Walla Symphony, the oldest continuously operating symphony west of the Mississippi.
A classically trained cellist, Mr. Abrams seeks to take his instrument into unknown territory. As a member of the post rock band "this Patch of Sky", he is one of the few modern cellists that have chosen to use technology in a unique way to enhance the colors of this already expressive instrument. He currently lives in Eugene where he runs a private studio and gives classical music house concerts with his fiancée Emma Rose Lynn.

Concert selections include the Suite for Solo Cello #3 in C Major by J.S. Bach, Third Suite for Solo Cello by Benjamin Britten, and works by Mark Summer and Gabriel Faure’.

The concert is free, but donations assist the performers.
