A.C. Nielson House circa 1905: Dane Lane and Deal Street

In 1902 A. C. Nielson, a real estate dealer from Tyler, Minnesota, bought a large tract of land about 1000 to 1,600 acres on what is now Dane Lane from G.C. Millet for $50,000. He advertised in Danish and mid west newspapers for families of Danish descent to start a colony in Junction City. The land was to be divided into 40 to 60 acre plots. The Danish brought their considerable farming, dairying and carpentry skills. The Danish community also established the Faith Lutheran Church in our community. The house remains at this site to this day.
