The 2003 50th Annual Pet & Costume Parade!
APRIL 26, 2003 - This year's parade intermittent cool rain dampened the crowd and exhibitors for the first time in over 25 years - but not their spirits. The Volunteer Fire Department once again started the day with their "Touch a Truck" exhibit followed by the parade itself. This year's parade definitely went "to the dogs" as there seemed to be more this year than ever before (not including a pair of personable goats that thought they were dogs!) But there were plenty of other animals too - including a 5 foot chicken. Special participants this year included the float and drum band from the Eugene Celebration and young cheerleaders from the Humane Society. All in all a fine celebration of our 50th year!
